Marketplace traffic and conversion insights in AppInsights

Moderate Upgrade

Features in Sandbox

This feature is currently being released to sandbox marketplaces. Expected production announcement: release 758 on November 11, 2026. Dates may change based on validation results.

Marketplace Managers can now track how buyers find the marketplace, where they drop off during purchase, and how returning customers and referrers drive sales, directly in AppInsights. This release reorganizes Marketplace Insights into clearer tabs and adds session-based traffic and conversion widgets, and returning-customer and referrer attribution widgets.

Previously, Marketplace Managers relied mainly on external analytics packs for traffic, conversion, and attribution trends. With this update, those insights appear in AppInsights alongside existing sales, revenue, and customer metrics.

Marketplace Insights is organized into five tabs:

  • Overview — Daily marketplace pulse
  • Growth (new) — How buyers arrive and convert, including returning customers and referrer-driven sales
  • Sales — What sold and what remains in quotes
  • Revenue — Billed and collected amounts
  • Customers — Who is on the marketplace

Existing Marketplace Insights (Marketplace > AppInsights > Marketplace Insights) content moves into these tabs. Orders and commissions information continues to appear as widgets on Sales and Revenue where available for the marketplace.

The following traffic and conversion widgets are added to the Growth tab:

  • Sessions over time
  • Conversion rate over time

  • Sessions by referrer
  • Sessions by device type

  • Sessions converted
  • Conversion funnel

Returning-customer and referrer attribution widgets on Growth / Overview include:
